How to get to Keukenhof

While there is no direct train to Keukenhof, you can take a train to one of the nearest stations:

  • Schiphol Airport Station (best option for travelers from Amsterdam or the airport).
  • Leiden Central Station (ideal for visitors coming from The Hague or Rotterdam).
  • Haarlem Station (convenient if coming from Haarlem or Zandvoort).

From any of these stations, you can transfer to a Keukenhof Express Bus (see below) to complete your journey.

The Keukenhof Express Buses provide a direct and easy way to reach the gardens:

  • Bus 858 from Schiphol Airport (direct to Keukenhof, approximately 30 minutes).
  • Bus 852 from Amsterdam RAI (great for visitors staying in Amsterdam, around 35–40 minutes).
  • Bus 850 from Haarlem Station (a convenient option for travelers from Haarlem, 40 minutes).
  • Bus 854 from Leiden Central Station (a quick and direct option, 25 minutes).
    These buses are part of a combination ticket that includes both transportation and Keukenhof entry, allowing you to skip the ticket lines at the gardens.

A taxi or rideshare from Amsterdam to Keukenhof takes approximately 35–40 minutes, depending on traffic. It is a direct and comfortable option, though it can be expensive, with fares ranging from €70–€100 one way. Booking a taxi in advance may help secure a better rate.

Keukenhof is about 40 minutes from Amsterdam by car. Parking is available on-site for visitors, but spaces can fill up quickly during peak season, so it’s best to book a parking ticket in advance. The gardens are easily accessible via the A4 and A44 highways, following the signs to Lisse/Keukenhof.
